Andrew In Florida Posted May 9, 2017 Report Posted May 9, 2017 Priceline accepted a bid of $54/night for 3 nights at the "Four Points By Sheraton Fort Myers Airport" in Near the RSW airport near Ft. Myers. The total price of $190.20 was 61% off list. That beaks down to 3 nights at $54 for $162 Plus $28.20 in taxes for a total of $190.20. The Express Price was $59/night and would have been $208.98 total (3x$59 + 31.98 in taxes). I'd hoped that I might luck out and get one of the hotels that included breakfast (even though it wasn't guaranteed). Some of the potential hotels in the region for this price still offered them. It would have been a bonus that's worth about $20 given that it would save a meal for the wife and I. I started at $52, and worked up in $1 increments -- instantly rebidding by adding pricey zones that I knew wouldn't compete. You have to be careful there, as I accidentally added a beach zone which threatened to add a $25/night hotel tax to the base bid. If you accidentally add a zone with a regional $25/night hotel tax, you can really mess yourself over. Be sure to recheck your subtotal before submitting again!

The $25 fee that you saw is noting that there is the possibility of winning something in that zone at that star rating with that fee.
