anonymous1 Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 this board is very helpful to me. i would like to add that fort meade has a *3 hotel: courtyard fort meade at national business park. it was an unpleasant surprise for me.
thereuare Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 I separated this thread as it was posted in a reply that had nothing to do with the above, but i'm not really sure where this is supposed to go or any of the details. Can you please supply what area and zone this is in, as well as the date(s) of your stay, price paid, previous rejected bids (if any), etc, etc.Thank you. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
anonymous1 Posted February 20, 2006 Author Report Posted February 20, 2006 this was not my finest hour. dates of stay 4/8-4/9. was trying to get a *3 for inner harbor. was adding areas that supposedly did not have that level. added hanover-fort mead. bid $95 (overbid) and got it. im sorry if i put this in the wrong place. i was trying to add to a previous poster.
njg Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 I realize that this is an older post to which I am replying, but I am presently doing the exact same thing---trying for Inner Harbor, 3 *. I double-checked Priceline and it seems clear to me that they only offer 2 1/2 * in the Hanover-Fort Meade area. I don't understand how you could have been given a room in that area if you had your bid set at 3*. :)I did just check thereuare's hotel list & i do see the Courtyard listed as a 3*, but Priceline does not list a 3* option for that area. Is this a glitch in Priceline's system?
GM Mike Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 Did you check by selecting ONLY Hanover/Fort Meade as the ONLY zone? And it listed nothing HIGHER than 2.5*?If so, it's likely that hotel stopped participating in priceline or was downgraded to a 2.5* rating. Happens.
njg Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 Yeah, that's how I checked. You're right, it has probably just changed since the original thread was posted. I always check right before adding a free re-bid zone. I just keep an extra Internet Explorer window open & use it to double-check.
