MCO from 5 pm 8/31 to 5pm 9/6

 

We will have 4 people in the car. Coming for a family reunion so the car will mostly be used before and after the reunion. Don't care about the size.

$10? best deal I found so far was $113 via PRICELINE for a economy car. I would like to spend as little as possible.

The $113 rate (and in the future please post the daily rates so it's easier to make apples-to-apples comparisons to your bidding price) is thru Fox, which is what i refer to as a 'second tier' rental company (vs. the 'first tier' like Hertz, Budget, Avis, etc)... is this an acceptable company for this rental, as they would not be an option when bidding thru PRICELINE (if acceptable then you could use this to set your maximum bid price... of not acceptable, then you would want to use the rate of an 'acceptable' company to determine your maximum bid price)

PS- and please follow-up your previous Car Rental JFK Airport with whatever you decide to do for that rental.  Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.  Thanks.

Ok. I first tried to bid $10 but it wasn't accepted. I changed it to $12, but the price ended up being higher than the price I was quoted for Fox. I am not sure how these things work, so I posted here for help. Thanks for your help!

If you're happy with renting from Fox then that is currently your best deal (or you could try $11 if that is below the all-in price from Fox).

 

The 'second tier' rental companies are usually OK, but expect a little more sales pressure to take their insurance or to upgrade your car.

 

You can also use our BiddingHelper.com to compare rates to ensure this is your best deal... then continue to try PRICELINE / HOTWIRE to see if you can do better as your arrival date approaches.
