tmblue
Good evening,i've read the site how-to's (some of it still is a bit foggy), i have looked for the various maps (none for Nevada) and figured out that there was some confusion where Lake Tahoe, since split should reside.Alas it's in Nevada, even south shore.Okay, Many have stated Embassy suites is available on Hotwire (not with any special pricing, and I did not find the "bidding" area on hotwire.I know! that Embassy is available thru priceline as a 3 star hotel, as is one other casino and some time share type place right next to Heavenly. Since i'm not skiiing this trip and would prefer to be near the Casinis, thus ES or a casino, I want to make sure that the 3 rooms I book, are one of 2 properties, Casino or better yet ES..How exactly do I put myself into a better position to get a hotel on the strip vs over the hill and thru the snow. Thanks and I did try to research as much as possible, but some of it "I would prefer to be thrown a fish and I'll learn to "fish" thru the processThanksTory Link to comment
tmblue
Okay So went to priceline, added 3 rooms, set my price and location and it comes back asking me to modify my choices and the modification of price only does not work. So I selected Carson City, since I know it has no 3 star hotels (stressed at first), that allows me to up the price and resubmit, still nothing. It is asking me to lower my hotel classification or stay on the other side of the lake, that's unacceptable. So I'm going to shoot for 1 room and bring the price up to see what happens.. I feel like I'm gambling here, is there any hedge bets?Tory Link to comment
dahammer
please list your dates of travel, and provide more detail as to the exact zones that you've bid and ammounts that you bid. What is your maximum bid and minimum star rating? If you shoot for one room and are successful, what would you do if you rebid for the other two rooms and got different hotels? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Provide the information that dahammer mentions above and we'll be in a better position to advise you of how to bid. Also, it seems as if you have already submitted a bid(s) and were rejected? If so, include that information too. tmblue
Sorry, was hoping to provide all the information, didn't know I was fully rejected since it still was asking me to make other choices.March 3rd - March 5th South Lake Tahoe3* 3 rooms, 6 adults$50, $75, $89, selected south lake tahoe, then selected Carson City in order to modify the amount. The system is not accepting just a monetary adjustment, it is requesting further changes, zone, class of hotel etc.To the earlier poster (what if you were put in a different hotel). There are only 3 3* rated hotels and I do not want the heavenly location, I will be fine with Harveys or ES, but would prefer ES.So in short if I obtained ES and Harveys I would be okay with that, but I do fully understand the question. Also on Hotwire, the only Casino showing is lakeside (based on ammenities) but you can book direct for $99.00 with a $10.00 food coupon, bringing the cost of the room to $89.00 (identical to hotwire price, minus the fees associated with it)ThanksTory Link to comment
thereuare
If there is a hotel at the star rating and zone that you don't want, how can you safely bid (or have bid in the past)? You need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the minimum star rating you select... it doesn't seem like you are able to do that. tmblue
Your correct there is one I don't want and would not be willing to stay at. So I'm seeing my options of trying to get a good price dwinidling.I've already booked lakeside inn as a backup, and was hoping to sneak into Harveys or ES, but as you stated there is one hotel that I would be unhappy staying atThanks :)Tory Link to comment
dahammer
What is your rate at the Lakeside? Hotwire has a 2.5* with the following amenities: Casino, Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Golf. These amenities match the Lakeside Inn and Casino which has been previously reported to this board. The rate is $89, and like Priceline, its not cancellable. Hotwire is showing a 3.5* that appears to be Harvey's for $347. :) just think, a mere 18 years ago, $375 per person (double occupancy) got me 7 days accomodations, 5 lift tickets, and 5 breakfasts at the La Baer Motor Lodge, two blocks from Harrah's :) Link to comment
bbbb
You do know that you will need a car or a cab to get from Lake Side to the big casinos? Its not a quick walk. Link to comment
