pharmacyman Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Hi I'am new to this but I want to stay at the Venetian on April 27-30. What can I expect to pay and what is the best whay to bid on priceline. Any help would be much appreciated
Blueskies Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Is it 3 or 4 nights? I have assumed that it is 4 and you check out on 1 May. Venetian.com has it showing at $329 per night and Hotwire has it at $306 per night. Would you be willing to split your bid? What is the maximum you would be willing to bid? Do you have back up plans?
pharmacyman Posted February 9, 2006 Author Report Posted February 9, 2006 Actualy I just need it Thurs, Fri, and Sat. I am willing to pay up to $150, but hopefully can get it for less. I don't mind staying at a 4 star but I hear that some of the 4 stars are not really 4 stars (don't want to get stuck with a dump).
thereuare Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding!Based upon current rates at the Venetian i don't think you really have any chance of success at the 5* level up to $150.Closest i could find to your limit is the Aladdin for $184/nite.We may be able to help you find better if you're willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, but you didn't say if this was an option for you or not. pharmacyman Posted February 21, 2006 Author Report Posted February 21, 2006 thankyou for your help thereuare! I was wondering, any idea why prices are so high for this weekend? Seems like other people have won bids for a lot less than what I'm at; my last bid was $180 for 5*. I need to book 2 bedrooms and I don't know if I should split the bid just in case I get stuck with two different hotels. My friends would really like to stay at the venetian, what do you think the lowest I can get it for? Also if I start bidding for 4* which hotels would I most likely get and what price should I start at. If I start at a lower price does that mean I could get something like treasure island vs Alladin if I start at a higher bid.
thereuare Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 My friends would really like to stay at the venetian...Check just how high your friends are willing to pay in order to stay there as you're not going to find any 'great deals' for the above dates at this property. You can see the PRICELINE HOTEL LIST for 4* properties that have been reported on the board. (note The Westin is now 4* rated and slightly off the strip)For your other question see this thread: DON'T BID HIGHER FOR A SPECIFIC HOTELLet us know if you want to switch to a 4* property and we'll suggest a strategy or if you and your friends want to pay up for the V.
