veinteuno Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 Currently bidding on a 4.5 star hotel. Downtown Minneapolis. Started at $82, upbid in $2 increments. Currently at $108. Not sure if there is anything going on right now in the Twin Cities for this weekend. Will keep you all posted.

thereuare Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 Can you please follow-up your previous Priceline Tampa hotel thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip. For your Minneapolis trip above, at current rates i think you will likely need to be in the $135-$150 range to be successful for a 4.5* property... how high are you willing to bid for a 4.5* hotel at this point in time? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. veinteuno Posted June 22, 2016 Author Report Posted June 22, 2016 man, you are THOROUGH. i did go back and entered in what i got for the trip in tampa.
veinteuno Posted June 22, 2016 Author Report Posted June 22, 2016 i would be willing to go up to $140 so, that range would be acceptable to me. There is too much range for the 4 star hotels. There are some nice ones, like the Westin, but also some other ones, like the Hyatt, that feel like salt in the wound, knowing that I could have potentially got a Westin for the same money.

There's no way to avoid a particular property (or steer towards one) when bidding, so it becomes a focus on PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE. I'm seeing what appears to be the W for $163 and Hotel Minneapolis for $175. I'm not seeing anything in terms of non-bidding at the 4* level or higher for $140 or less. Additionally, please confirm the specifics in your prior Tampa thread. Thanks, it's greatly appreciated. veinteuno Posted June 27, 2016 Author Report Posted June 27, 2016 I got a room. Radisson Blu. $144 a night. It was funny because they offered me some "specials" at 4 star hotels, at a "discounted" price of $180, when I bid at $140.
