Please also include the room rate per nite in your posts as it makes it easier for us to find the same hotel among the offers when we replicate your search.

This is the one that is priced about $66/nite? (the price you see may differ by a few dollars either direction)  If so, best guess for this one would be the  Sheraton Grand Chicago.

Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.

So we are looking for a hotel for that day (29-30th) near Michigan ave and E Erie st.
Any suggestions? We feel that the Sheraton Grand may be a bit far and are worried about the cold.

Thanks!

Any suggestions? If possible, what are the hotels showing for hotwire for 1/29-1/30? http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=212683 was really good. I was wondering if I can help similar to this if possible?

Thanks!

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the lower right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion.

How about what looks to be (confirm all dates on the landing pages):

The Hotel Felix for $57/nite (Restaurant, Fitness, Free Internet, Business)

W Chicago Lakeshore (further from your desired location but hotel gets good reviews) for $72/nite

Google puts the Sheraton Grand a 12 minute walk to the cross streets you listed above which i think is acceptable walk in most cities (or an inexpensive cab ride)

You can also enter your cross streets in the search box of our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com which makes it easy to see your options near almost any address in the world and determine how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating or to stay closer/further from your ideal location.  There i see The Warwick for $77/nite and is just a block from the cross streets above... or The MileNorth for $99/nite, which gets excellent reviews.

Hi thereuare,

Thanks for the help.

I am looking at hotwire's hot rate hotels right now and arent seeing the 57 or 99 option. For 4 stars and above I just see $62, $66, $66 and $77

$62 = Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower

$66 = Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower

$77 = Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access

There's also this 3.5* for $56 = Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower

These offers are thru PRICELINE EXPRESS and you can just click the links above for either of these properties and you'll be take directly to the offer (or the links above for the Warwick and MileNorth hotels that we mentioned)

As far as the most recent HOTWIRE offers you listed, i don't think these are in the Downtown River North zone... they appear to be in the WaterTower zone, is this correct?  If so, best guess for each (have you checked the Hotwire Hotel List as my guesses below are exact matches for each as per the hotel list):

$62

--> Whitehall

$66

--> Warwick Allerton Hotel Chicago

$77

--> not seeing this offer when searching for your dates

There's also this 3.5* for $56

--> Hotel Indigo Gold Coast

Hi

Thanks, yes, all these are in the water tower region.

The prices changed

$72 4* FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access

$75 4.5* FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access

Out of the few from hotwire (and this 2), which one would you recommend?

Thanks

In the literal sense, the Indigo is a little out of the way in the Gold Coast area, which is a few minutes walk North of the top end of the North Michigan Ave area. However, while it's not central, the benefit is that there is a subway station essentially a block and a half way. One stop South and you're an easy walk from Water Tower. Two stops South and you're in the River North area, which has a lot of restaurants and nightlife.

My thought is this: if you take the Indigo for about $15 less than $70ish dollar options and it turns out to be a nice day out, it's a very pleasant walk from there to where to need to be and it's a nice hotel. If it's bad day weather-wise, a cab ride from the Indigo to where you want to be will be extremely quick and reasonable. So this is a cheap, nice option that gives you some optionality - cab to where you want to be would take no time, the Gold Coast is a nice area and the subway is around the corner.

In terms of the Whitehall and Allerton, those are very centrally located, but older hotels with mixed reviews.

Another nice option for the same price is a 4.5* Mag Mile-RN Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly $72. Likely the Intercontinental. If so, this is square on Michigan Ave. While a bit South if where you need to be, the walk couldn't be easier or quicker and this would be more hotel for your money.

Thank you for keeping us updated on what you decide and let us know if you have any additional questions (city or hotel) before booking.

Really interested at this one. Can I get some help? We are trying to stay away from boutique hotels as we heard these are usually not as good?

This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. A guess would be that the Westin Michigan Ave has been upgraded to 4.5*, but that's definitely just a guess and this certainly could be something else not yet reported to the board.

 There are plenty of terrific boutique properties in the city, including the Kimpton properties, the Thompson, the Ivy and others.
