dahammer Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 Started bidding in the Jersey City Zone at the 3* level @ $60, but was rejected; added 2.5* and bid $65, rejected; added 2* as I hoped to get the Candlewood, bid $70 and was rejected. (Hotwire had the 2* Candlewood for $99 and the 3* Hyatt for $128) Decided not to add Elizabeth as I really did not want the possibility of getting the Hyatt for more than $70 as the cost of parking and HS internet adds $40 to the total price. Checked out Hotwire inn the Meadowlands zone and saw a 2.5* with Restaurant, Fitness Center, Business Center for $58. Started a new bid in the Secaucus-North Bergen area at the 3* level at $60 and was successful on my first attempt.Your Offer Price: $60.00Taxes & Service Fees: $16.32 Total Charges: $76.32 this hotel is located in the Harmon Meadows area of Secaucus and has easy access to NYC via NJ Transit Bus.placed my bids through Savingsbarn.com

dahammer Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 3* is a bit of a stretch, probably closer to a 2.5* given its aging decor in the room and common areas. On the plus side, it features several freebees: free parking, free WiFi, and for Priority Club members, free breakfast.
