mcgervey Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 With taxes and fees $52 ($51 and change)...this was my brothers bidding for a hotel here with his girlfriend when he visited to watch the Steeler game with me.He first bid $20 for 2* downtown. No dice, rejected.Added 1*, knowing there are no 1* downtown (or at least I doubt there are, except maybe the Super 8, which is a downtown tower), and upped the bid to $40.Won the Holiday Inn Express, downtown, which is classified as a 2*.The hotel was pretty busy... Couldn't accomadate a king size bed request as they had none left. Ended up with 2 doubles. High speed internet, no pool or tub, work out room, complimentary continental breakfast. Decent hotel right next to the Charleston Civic Center and Charleston Town Center (one of the largest downtown indoor malls in the country).
