Hello everyone!

I'll be taking a trip to Manhattan next week and will be traveling alone. I will be staying from July 30 - August 3rd (4 nights). I'm looking to stay in the Manhattan area. I'm pretty open as far as location in Manhattan since everyone is commutable by train. I am looking for a 3.5 star or above and less than $150, including tax. Would you guys suggest attempting to bid or go through the priceline express? Please help. Thanks!!

Searching PRICELINE EXPRESS the least expensive 3.5* or better hotel i'm seeing is $138/nite and comes to $172/nite all-in... which would be over your budget of $165/nite.

If you would like to bid on PRICELINE up to $131/nite, please let us know which zones, by PRICELINE name, you're willing to accept and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Thanks for the response! I'm open to anywhere in Manhattan but I'll list my preferred locations:

1) Midtown East (#1 choice). I would love to score that 4* on PRICELINE EXPRESS in this area.

2) Chelsea

3) Hells Kitchen

4) Soho

5) Time Square

6) Union Square - East Village

I'm open to anywhere in Manhattan...

Are you willing to pay more for your preferred zones above OR are you looking for the least expensive 3.5* or better in any acceptable zone? If the latter, to avoid any confusion, please list all Manhattan zones that are acceptable for this stay and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow... or should we provide a strategy for only the zones above?

My take is that you're budget of $131/nite is likely on the low side and that you will need to include other zones then those above to have a good chance at a win for these dates... although it most likely will require a bump to the $135-$155 range (but that you could also get a 4 star hotel within this range)

I could go up to $170/night if needed.

I'm not sure if your $170 limit is bid price or nicluding taxes/fees, but it may not matter as there is currently THIS (confirm your dates on the landing page) 4* MTE property for $119/nite from PRICELINE EXPRESS with:

Business Center

Restaurant

Fitness Center

... my guess here would be the Doubletree by Hilton Metropolitan New York or the W New York Hotel.

As this is your first choice of zone, within your budget and a half a star rating higher than what you were going to bid for, did you want to just take this one... or bid for a 4* hotel up to this price (although given how much less this is than anything else offered for these dates, you may just want to grab this before it potentially disappears)

Let us know how you'd like to proceed, or how it goes if you go with the offer above, and we'll take it from there.
