Plebian Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 Hi, I would like to stay in the University City area of Philadelphia at the end of August (Aug. 30-31). We used Priceline a few years ago but have three travelers this time, so must use Hotwire, which is a first for me. I see the zones are a little different. I notice that the second hotel offered has spa services and the third no internet mentioned at all. Thanks for your help! thereuare Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to each of these listings, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Using this method, below is the full list of amenities i'm seeing for each when searching for your dates: 4* Boutique Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... my guess here would be the Le Meridien, which i have stayed at previously. It's a very nice hotel (incidentally used to be a YMCA that was remodeled very nicely) with typical city smallish rooms... but is on the eastern end of this zone so not really that close to the University (of Pennsylvania) For the 100% recommended property this is the full amenity set i'm seeing: Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Spa Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ... my best guess for this one would be the Hilton Inn at Penn which gets excellent reviews, and as the name implies, would be close to the University (if that's where you need to be this trip) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes. Good luck! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Plebian Posted August 5, 2015 Author Report Posted August 5, 2015 Hi, I have changed my zone slightly but it is still Philadelphia. Valley Forge/King of Prussia Zone, using Hotwire for party of 3. King of Prussia –Valley Forge2.5 Star $62/night• Free Internet• Free breakfast• Free parking• Business center• Fitness center• Accessible for visually impaired• Accessible for hearing impaired• Accessible path of travel I found this on regular Hotwire (using your links). I clicked through to where it wanted e to pay and I cannot find any further descriptions. Also, I cannot find a similar pricepoint deal using Bidding Helper/Easy View that includes free parking. Thanks for any help in identifying this property!
yellowdog Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 I can't get the same hotel to appear when replicating your search. I have tried every possible way. Are you searching for 2 adults + 1 child or 3 adults? How many HOTWIRE customer reviews do you see for this listing? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Yellowdog.
Plebian Posted August 6, 2015 Author Report Posted August 6, 2015 Yellowdog,I did two adults and one child for my search. AaronJB Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 The 2.5* King of Prussia for $60 has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. A guess would be the Holiday Inn Express with a new amenity set, but it may be something else not yet reported to the board. What are the zones for the other two listings (1 and 3) in the above post? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
Plebian Posted August 7, 2015 Author Report Posted August 7, 2015 All three were King of Prussia. I think the Bidding Helper was probably a duplicate of one of the regular Hotwire offers.
yellowdog Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 All three were King of Prussia. I think the Bidding Helper was probably a duplicate of one of the regular Hotwire offers. It doesn't look the same to me. My guess for the BiddingHelper.com offer would be Comfort Inn Valley Forge. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Keep us updated on your progress and let us know what you ultimately decide or if we can be of further help. Yellowdog.
Plebian Posted October 30, 2015 Author Report Posted October 30, 2015 We did not end up using Hot.wire for this stay. My husband got offered a large incentive of free miles to stay at a hotel on their list. Since this reservation was to be was only for one night, it was the perfect choice to use that incentive on.
