nola90
Hey guys, I was looking through the other threads and there seems to be 2-3 different ones for 4*...Could anyone help in regards to what a Name your price cost would go at lowest in their opinion and what is the ID of it? Appreciate the help! 8/21-8/234*$141 a nightRated 8.0 Guest Favorite+ Business Center+ Restaurant+ Free Internet+ Indoor or Outdoor Pool+ Fitness Center Ideally I was looking to stay around the michigan ave-millenium park area with a 3-star minimum preference, but the 3-3.5* options seem more expensive than the 4-4.5*. Any opinions as well? Thanks again! Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. Is this a PRICELINE EXPRESS listing or a Name Your Own Price bid? AaronJB
The W Lakeshore and Sheraton have been seen with this amenity set previously, but I would lean towards the Sheraton as being more likely. nola90
Just did. Will also be using the links as well since it helps out the site. I appreciate the help from you both! I'll keep an eye out on the prices for the PL EXPRESS DEALS to see if it trends down. For "Name your price" in that region and selecting a 4*, do you guys think I would get a lower price than ~141 for the Sheraton/W (assuming those are the two locations). Link to comment
thereuare
You may be able to beat the PRICELINE EXPRESS rate of $141/nite, but it may not necessarily be for The W Hotel or the Sheraton, you would need to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you choose. Are you willing to accept any 4* or better hotel in the NMA zone? nola90
Probably so. I think I may just look on HOTWIRE as well and see what the price is like over there. Ideally they wanted to spend closer to ~$100 a night, 3-4 years back I was able to get $90/night for a 4* in mid-august through PRICELINE EXPRESS, but it looks like that won't be the case this year. AaronJB
There is a moderate-sized convention happening on these dates which may be driving up prices somewhat over seasonal norms. What appears to be the Sheraton is showing on Hot.wire for $140, as well. Thank you for keeping us updated on what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. If you are driving, you can get a 3.5*-4* in the North Burbs (which are very nice areas, with a good deal of shopping and restaurants - as well as a few great sights) for probably around $50-60 bidding. Hot.wire has a 4* in the Northbrook zone for $62. The problem with these areas is that the hotels are often difficult to get to from public transit - it's optimal for those driving. nola90
Price went up to 150s...probab end up booking tonight. Unfortunately, we won't be driving and most of the things we want to do are around that area. The 3 star is 120 or so through express deals. Should I make a new thread for an ID? Link to comment

nola90
This is probably the same place, but any opinions on this?Hotwire:Magnificent Mile Area - River North Area Hotel3* Collection+Business Center+Fitness Center+Smoke-Free Room+In-Room accessibility+Roll-In Shower55% recommended (....eh?)$123 Priceline EXPRESS: North Michigan Ave - River North Area Hotel3*+Business Center+Fitness Center$129 or should I just book the 4* one for $152 from priceline express in terms of quality worth it for another ~$50 Link to comment
AaronJB
I'd guess both are potentially the Inn of Chicago. I'm seeing the Sheraton for $154 and what is likely the Intercontinental for $156. You may see slightly different prices than I do. It becomes whether or not you want a more upgraded property with better reviews for around $25-30 more. AaronJB
I really wouldn't be considering a listing with a 45% approval rating from Hot.wire customers - so more than half didn't like the hotel despite paying a considerable discount. Please include all amenities, including accessible. If you see for the 3* Downtown-MP-GP Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking.-- Would likely be the Congress, which I would definitely not recommend. yellowdog
I assume this is for the Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park zone. Best guess would be Central Loop Hotel. nola90
I booked the 4* through Price.Line, but it is refundable, so I'm still considering attempting a cheaper PRICELINE EXPRESS / Hot.wire option still. I just wanted to lock down a hotel for the time being. It was the Sheraton as well. I know in another thread, someone stated stay away from the 2.5 stars, but I'm going to assume it is the same place between Priceline/Hotwire. The 3* had a 45% rating which seems like it would be the Congress. What would these two be? Millennium park, Loop, & Grant Park Area Priceline Express: 2.5 star $99/night, choose your bed options ($99-186) +Business Center +Fitness Center +Free Internet Hotwire: 2.5 star $134/night +Business Center +Fitness Center +Free Internet +Restaurant +Self-Service Laundry +Tennis Nearby +Access for visually impaired +Access for hearing impaired 70% recommended Link to comment
thereuare
I booked the 4* through PRICELINE, but it is refundable...To confirm... you booked a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal that was listed as 'refundable' and it was the Sheraton (or was this a 'retail' listing where the name was shown before the purchase)? If so, do you recall the amenities associated with this PRICELINE EXPRESS offer? Does your confirmation page show this as being refundable?
