Trying to bid a 4* in Baltimore Inner Harbor for May 25 to May 28.

Hyatt...no availability.

Marriott...no availability.

Renaissance...$259/nite. First night at $219, then $259.

Bid up to $120 with no success...didn't know would be this busy, but is Memorial day weekend.

Haven't looked into 3* yet, but will start investigating. Have cancellable at Hampton Inn for $169/nite.

Thanks in advance.

Of course.

Looked into 2 1/2 and 3* for Inner Harbor area...prices are about the same for both. May try for either one if 4* doesn't pan out. 2 1/2* Holiday Inn and Courtyard around $179 for that weekend. May try bidding from $50 up to maybe $80.

would you consider staying in an area outside of the Inner Harbor and driving or taking public transportation into the city? There are probably 25 hotels in the BWI Airport zone and sevreral have shuttle service to the BWI "Light Rail" station, its about a 20 minute trip and it goes right into the Inner Harbor area. The fare is about $1.50 each way. There is a small parking lot at the BWI Light Rail station, but it fills up quickly.

Another city to try is Annapolis, its about 30 minutes from Baltimore and a great walkable town.

Thanks for the advice. Will talk it over with my wife. Don't like to rent a car if I don't have to. May start looking for a quieter weekend. Have been looking at the light rail website. definitely a possibility.

Not a lot of help on this bid except Dahammer's suggestions.

Originally bid 4*...no availability at Marriott or Hyatt, and Renaissance web rate at $219/$259.

Bid up to $131 with no success.

Bid 2 1/2* at $60...got the $17 counteroffer...scarred away by Holiday Inn.

Started new bid for 3* at $60....again got counteroffer. Bid again at $65...no dice...raised to $67, accepted for Sheraton Inner Harbor.

Total with taxes and fees for 3 nites $236.24.

Web rate on Sheraton/Westin website $241/nite.

Bid through SavingsBarn.com.

Adds more fuel to the fire about bidding close to dates or further out. Can cancel my reservation at Hampton Inn which was for $179/nite.

Feel free to incorporate this into previous thread.

well done!

too bad the Orioles are outta town, but crabs should be in season and you can get your fill at Obrickey's, a short ride from your hotel :)
