cathy2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Hi,This is a fantastic site! :) I'm going to New York February 10th for 3 nights (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and would like to try staying in Jersey City at the Hyatt or Doubletree. I would love to stay at the Hyatt though and would be willing to pay a bit more (up to $25?) if it will somehow increase my chances.Thank you!Cathy
thereuare Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 There is a 4* on Hotwire for $83/nite for your dates, presumed to be the Hyatt.Do you want to take that or try bidding on Priceline? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cathy2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Author Report Posted January 12, 2006 That is a great price! Thank you! :) I'm thinking of just booking this, unless there you think there is a good chance I could get it for less on Priceline (but I guess there is the risk I'd end up with the Doubletree?).Thanks!Cathy
dahammer Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 If you really want the Hyatt, you should take the Hotwire deal as conventional rates are $169 and $199 for your dates of travel. If you submit a Priceline bid, you could get the Doubletree, a decent property, but its just not as nice as the Hyatt. There is one rebid zone at the 3* Level (Elizabeth) so if you feel like rolling the dice, you could bid $60 or $65 with Hotwire as a fallback plan. Hotel availability changes daily, so any offer from HW could change.
cathy2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Author Report Posted January 12, 2006 Thank you for that suggestion.I decided to book it with Hotwire via savingsbarn.com. It was $85 per night for the 3 nights. Thanks for your help!Cathy
