Redcat Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 Hi,I want to book a good Hotel deal for 04/17 to 04/19 in Miami. At priceline express deals, there is a 4* Hotel in the Miami downtown area, that could well be the Intercontinental because of the 9 point recommendation (?).Now I am considering to place a bid in priceline for 4* downtown that is lower than 133 US, but I am not entirely sure about it. Do you think that there is a good chance to get the express deal hotel via name your own price with a lower budget? The only risk could be to receive another 4* hotel in the same zone, right?I will certainly use your links and report the outcome of my booking and would be glad about any suggestion to get the best deal.Thank you,Redcat
AaronJB Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 Please provide a follow-up for your prior Hong Kong Priceline thread (post what you decided for that stay within that thread, then reply to this thread and we would be happy to take a look and try to id the above listing.) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
thereuare Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 Please further reply to your Hong Kong hotel thread with whatever you did up doing for that trip... not just what you didn't do. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your results/decisions as you receive them so that the information can best help others in a timely manner. For the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer above, if you decide to bid on PRICELINE you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating, or higher, that you bid. It may be the InterContinental or it could be some other property that may not be as well reviewed. So it comes down to how much you would need to save per nite to risk receiving any hotel in the zone vs. being able to try to target one that has a 9.0+ user review rating from previous guests. Part of your decision will likely entail what your plans are for this trip, how much time you will be spending at the hotel, how important a well reviewed property is for you, etc. If you decide to purchase, or need help with, the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer, please list the amenities that PRICELINE EXPRESS associates with this offer. If you'd like help with a strategy bidding on PRICELINE please let us know your maximum bid and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Redcat Posted April 10, 2015 Author Report Posted April 10, 2015 Since we need the hotel only for the first two nights, we would like to spend less money for it.I found a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for gateway to the everglades, 2.5 stars, amenities: Free parking, free internet, free breakfast, pool. Guest favorite, rating 8. Could this be the Holiday Inn in Homestead? If possible, I would appreciate bidding strategy for a good deal in Miami (any zone) for a maximum of 70 dollars, 3 stars.
thereuare Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 I would appreciate bidding strategy for a good deal in Miami (any zone) for a maximum of 70 dollars, 3 stars. Please confirm that what you typed above is correct... you're willing to stay in any of the PRICELINE zones within the Miami region (there are currently 17 zones)... OR are you still looking to only stay in the Downtown zone but are willing to accept any hotel? (NOTE: a zone such as 'Gateway to the Keys' is about a 45 minute drive from your original 'downtown' zone... this would be an acceptable outcome?) Please confirm and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Redcat Posted April 11, 2015 Author Report Posted April 11, 2015 You Are perfectly right, we are not willing to accept any zone, it should be downtown or beach zone. The First 4* Hotel in Miami express deal disappeared from the list (133 Dollars), but today a novel showed up:4stars, Miami downtown zone, amenities: Pool, Fitness Center, Business center, Restaurant 124 Dollars. It shows customers Favorite and 9 star rating. Is your guess still Intercontinental? We are still thinking to try name your own price first, but it should be downtown or beach area, 4 stars maximum 100 Dollars. Sorry for The mess, we are two people with different opinions regarding strategy. In case above express deal is likely the Intercontinental, then we would pay the money and skip any further experiments.Thank you!
Redcat Posted April 11, 2015 Author Report Posted April 11, 2015 We booked the priceline express deal 4stars ,amenties Business center, Restaurant, Fitness Center, pool, guest favorite, recommendation 9.0. We got the Intercontinental Miami. Thanks
