sxc Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Hotel Name: Amsterdam Marriott Hotel Stadhoudmrskade 12 Amsterdam, Noord-holland 1054 ES Netherlands31 20 6075555 Zone: City Centre and Museum Quarter Your Offer Price: HK$685 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: HK$1370 Taxes: HK$82.2 Processing Fee: HK$75 (per offer) Total Lodging Charges: HK$1527.2 Quite happy with this win.Incidentally, I looked up my reservation on marriott.com and this note is in the booking:"PRICELINE.COM * Deluxe Room (1 King or 2 Double beds), Room only exclusive of 5 pct city tax to be paid at the hotel. PN 22739"Does this mean I'm going to be charged extra at the hotel? Is this standard for Amsterdam Priceline wins?
rapazfreiburg Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Yes, it means they will charge you around
sxc Posted February 14, 2006 Author Report Posted February 14, 2006 Well I just got back from this stay, and I was charged EUR 3.30 per night for the city tax. Since this is supposed to be 5%, I assume it means that Priceline paid EUR 66 per night to the hotel?
kayess Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 I got charged the E3.30 per night for city tax too. Can't be bothered to fight with priceline about it.
rapazfreiburg Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 kayess and sxc, did the hotel issue a receipt or bill for the
sxc Posted February 21, 2006 Author Report Posted February 21, 2006 Yes I got a receipt and will send an email to priceline HK. I'll see where it gets me....
sxc Posted February 23, 2006 Author Report Posted February 23, 2006 I realised when submitting a bid, the following disclaimer is made:Please note, your offer price does not include applicable government tax and service charges or a standard HK$75 processing fee per offer for accepted requests. Incidentals (breakfast, parking, phone calls, room service, movie rentals etc.), resort fees and local taxes incurred during your stay are the responsibility of the guest and are not included in your offer price. So Priceline will probably get out of refunding the amount by using this clause. I don't think I'll bother following up with Priceline.
