rb.sr Posted March 18, 2015 Author Report Posted March 18, 2015 This property is rated 2 stars by Expe.dia and can be booked directly for $20 cheaper than the Hot.wire rate. It might be 2 stars, were it not in deplorable condition. It has a 2.4 (out of 5) customer rating, and that is as a 2 star. The hotel rates itself as 2 stars. Based on this misclassification, I asked Hotwire for a refund. They refused, claiming that they start with the Expedia rating and adjust based on customer feedback. So much for Hotwire customer service. This is outright fraud. I am now disputing the charge on my credit card.

rb.sr Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 Disputed the charge with credit card (Fidelity Amex, administered by Citicard), who would do NOTHING for me, citing that I had checked in rather than walk away. I then filed a complaint w/ BBB of San Francisco. Hotwire immediately offered me a $25 credit for misrating + another $25 credit for condition of property. They also advised that they had re-rated property from 3.5 stars to 2 stars. I accepted the offer.
