Today I saw this: 3* Del Mar-Rancho Santa Fe $71.

75% recommended

When I look up this hotel in the Hotwire hotellist it also says suite and kitchenette.

These amenities are not on bidding helper . Can it still be Morgan run resort you think?

 

Edit: When I look at the hotelwebsite, they do not offer kitchenettes.

        On booking.com it is already sold out on my dates!

Hotels don't need to show all the amenities they have... but do need to have all the amenities they show. As well, amenity combinations shown for hotels are subject to change (or maybe the previous time this property was won it showed some amenities in error and they have been removed).

I will stick with my guess of the Morgan Run Resort.

Stll looking for same dates. Now I see a 3* for $79 in a zone that is not mentioned in the hotellist: El Cajon - Santee - Alpine area. 90% recommended.

Only downside on more exclusive hotels is that they do not offer free breakfast and parking.

 

Hotels are still pretty expensive I think. Also because the exchange rate euro/dollar is bad.

I think it is inevitable to pay an amount between $100-$150. Or do you think it will be cheaper when we wait longer?  It depends which hotel it is if I will really book it.

Not necessarily. Prices can quickly go either way. There's been less in the way of "last minute" price declines as demand has ramped up in recent years.
