Hi there,

I am planing for a trip to NYC from 12/23 - 12/28, and want to stay at Jersey City - Newark area. From 2004 data, I found many successful bids in this area around X-mas for less than $50. Should I wait for 1 more week or 2 to bid, so that I can get a better price than what I can get now? Thanks.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I wouldn't use 2004 data to determine your bidding as rates for this zone have gone up substantially since then.

With the above said, you can't bid now as priceline will allow allow you bid up to 330 days before your travel dates.

1st bid: Jersey city, 12/23 - 12/28, $60, rejected

2nd bid:Jersey city, 12/24 - 12/28, $60, accepted

4-night stay, tax & fees $45.23

total $60*4 + $45.23 = $285.23

Still need to figure out where to stay on 12/23.

THanks a lot for all who had shared their experiences on this site.

you can still bid for the one night 12/23, with the Elizabeth zone as a free rebid. You have plenty of time before your stay, you should reserve a cancellable backup at the Doubletree . FYI, it looks like the Hyatt is available for $110 at Hotwire, so $60 is probably not far off for a 3*.
