dahammer
started bidding in the Elizabeth zone at the 2.5* level in an attempt to get the Country Inn and Suites, maybe I should have checked out the Hotel's website before my bid as this property was sold out. :) First bid of $55 was rejected, added Jersey City (where the Hyatt was available for $356 on Hotwire) and bid $65 and was rejected. Re-accessed Priceline again through savingsbarn.com and and started bidding at the 3* level in the Newark-Airport zone, bid $57, success!Doubletree Hotel Newark Airport Your Offer Price: $57.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.84 Total Charges: $72.84 the internet rate for this hotel is $189, even the Hampton Inn is $160 in this area, so I was pretty happy with my win, even if I have to pay $12 for parking and $10 for WiFi :) Link to comment
thereuare
All things considered this is an excellent rate. It's not widespread, but i think we're starting to see NYC holiday season rates trickle across the river for certain dates.Enjoy your stay and thanks for bidding thru the links at SavingsBarn.com Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
dahammer
upon checking out, discovered that the hotel posted room and tax to my bill, which I assume was the rate Priceline paid: $50. This was a Thursday night stay, normally a slow night for business travellers. Link to comment
