vineys
I just booked a 3.5 star Hotel labeled Santa Rosa/Rohnert Park/Petaluma. I stay in the Santa Rosa area often, and was hoping for something like the Vineyard Creek Inn or Hilton which is in Santa Rosa.....What I got this time for $85. was the Double Tree in Rohnert Park...I have stayed there many times over the years...(It started out as a Red Lion)...and is a nice enough place....But it is in Rohnert Park not S.R., and my wife & I like the restuarant scene in S.R. much better...and I hate to drive back to Rohnert Park after two Martinis and 1/2 a bottle of some delicious Sonoma County red Zin....even though it really isn't not that far.... vineys
The Date of my stay (for Santa Rosa/Rohnert Park/Petaluma) is 12/17/05 and as I mentioned, the 3 & 1/2 Star for $85. came up as the Double Tree in Rohnert Park. The amenities were/are Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, & Business Center. FYI Since I rec'd my confirmation, I've done a little checking...and though I've stayed at the exact place several times when it was a Red Lion...since it became a Double Tree it has undergone some very nice upgrading...Most other listings still call it 4 star...and I stumbled upon a website called Dining Out which is selling $50 credits to the upscale onsite Restaurant & Wine Bar called Bacchus for $25. So I purchased this online...which, if you were going to dine out at a nice place anyway, saves another $25!!!....and it's right on the property for convenience and reason for an after dinner drink...or two.....
