qnmanor Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 Hello,I'm not sure if I am starting this too early but hotel rates seem higher in NYC on Christmas night this year. Any suggestions? We have friends staying at the Drake and so really want to stay there - but are we too early to start the bidding process?Any advice is greatly appreciated - I've only done priceline in Las Vegas - when your forum was instrumental in us getting a night at the Venetian for $99!
thereuare Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 You can not bid for a specific hotel on Priceline (which i think you know, but it is worth repeating for others following along). If you're open to staying at any hotel in the zone you bid let us know and we'll advise of a strategy. Please include the zones you're willing to bid as well as your maximum bid amount. Not sure what hotel(s) you're looking at, but rates for Christmas nite (one nite, 12/25) are not very high at all. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
qnmanor Posted November 28, 2005 Author Report Posted November 28, 2005 Thanks for your quick reply. About two weeks ago I checked rates and it was $209 for one night. Now its up to $279 - that's why it feels expensive. the published rates for many nicer hotels are above $250 and more likely over $300.
