Priceline Hotel: 4* Toronto (Downtown Southwest - Entertainment and Financial Districts) Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel

Had targeted this hotel for the past month.  Saw that there was always a rate of about $120-130 CAD on Priceline Express and Hotwire with amenity sets that were consistent with this hotel, but never took advantage of them.  Always starting at $90 with lowball bids, using rebid zones up to $110 before calling it quits for the day. 

 

Today, saw that there was a match on Priceline Express for $106 US, or $113 CAD, and $112 CAD on Hotwire.  Being Canadian, I decided to start the bidding at $100 CAD (about $94 US), and was countered at $120.  Declined, and used a rebid zone to $105 CAD (about $99 USD) before being accepted.

I could have accepted the Priceline Express deal and used the 5% coupon, and only paid $4 CAD total more to get this same hotel, but I was hoping to get the Intercontinental or the Renaissance on a bidding basis.  I figured it was worth the chance to bid on this basis.

 

I also had a backup reservation here at $154 (all in $357.28) CAD with my firm's corporate rate, so I saved about 30% on the bill.

While not your first choice of hotel in the zone, glad to see the price came down and you were accepted at a rate lower than you had previously tried.
