99leeric Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Hello,I am looking for a 3 or 4* hotel in Chicago North Michigan Ave - River North Area on July 7th for 2 nights. What should I bid? Thanks,
yellowdog Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 What is your budget for a 3* vs. 4* hotel? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* or are you just looking for the cheapest hotel? Please also follow-up our additional question for your previous Chicago Priceline thread. Yellowdog. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.
99leeric Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 I dont really have a set budget... I just want a good deal so i'm open to your recommendations. I can go either way as long as i can get the best deal. Thanks again.
thereuare Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 i replied to the chicago threadCan you please post your second win as a NEW TOPIC (see the previous priceline Chicago thread for the board format and how another thread will allow each purchase to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and Priceline Maps) I can go either way as long as i can get the best deal. The 'best deal' is not always so black/white... a 3.5* hotel for $70 or a 4* hotel for $85; which is a better deal? For some the 3.5* hotel is better because it is cheaper, for others $15 more is worth it for a higher rated hotel. What is you add a 4.5* hotel at $120 into the mix... where does that fall on the 'value' meter? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. 99leeric Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 i think i replied correctly. please check. Thanks
AaronJB Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 On Hot.wire, I'm seeing a 3.5* in the Mag Mile-RN area for $87 (the price you see may differ slightly) w/: Free Breakfast,Free Internet,Smoke Free Rooms,Fitness Center,Business Center,Internet accessThis has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but I would guess this may be the new Hyatt Place. While not a 4*, a 3.5* in a great location with breakfast. In terms of 4* in the River North-NMA area, I'd start at $65 and work higher by $5's using re-bidding. Please let us know if you have any questions before bidding. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
99leeric Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 Thanks so much. The prices are much cheaper on July 7th but I need to move the date to July 12th Can you please help? Thanks
thereuare Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Is your date of July 12 now firm? As these dates are more expensive, what is your maximum bid? Is the River North zone the only acceptable zone or is an area such as Millennium-Grant Park also acceptable? Ballpark area of what you're looking at in terms of prices for each star rating (we will of course start lower): 3* $130-$150 3.5* $145-$165 4* $160-$180 ($140 if willing to consider the Grant Park zone) (NOTE: rates may be a little less if considering zones other than the River North) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you would like to try for first, as well as which zone(s) and maximum bid, and we'll advise accordingly. 99leeric Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 Yes dates are confirmed. I want River North area. let's start with 3* Thanks
thereuare Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 When bidding 3* in Chicago you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 3* NMA-River North... Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $135 If the above is rejected, wait 24 hours and re-try (once again use this PRICELINE link on the board, and NOT any links in any emails that PRICELINE may sending informing you that you're able to bid again)... Select 3* NMA-River North... Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $145 If this too is rejected, PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 3* hotel in the NMA-River North zone which is showing only a Restaurant amenity. The price is $160/nite, but using the discount link and code in my signature take an EXTRA 5% OFF, bringing this down to $152/nite and you can take this offer. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
