I am looking for a 3 or 4* hotel in Chicago North Michigan Ave - River North Area on July 7th for 2 nights.

 

What should I bid?

What is your budget for a 3* vs. 4* hotel?

Are you willing to pay more for a 4* or are you just looking for the cheapest hotel?

The 'best deal' is not always so black/white... a 3.5* hotel for $70 or a 4* hotel for $85; which is a better deal? For some the 3.5* hotel is better because it is cheaper, for others $15 more is worth it for a higher rated hotel. What is you add a 4.5* hotel at $120 into the mix... where does that fall on the 'value' meter?

On Hot.wire, I'm seeing a 3.5* in the Mag Mile-RN area for $87 (the price you see may differ slightly) w/:

 

Free Breakfast,Free Internet,Smoke Free Rooms,Fitness Center,Business Center,Internet access

This has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but I would guess this may be the new Hyatt Place. While not a 4*, a 3.5* in a great location with breakfast.

 

In terms of 4* in the River North-NMA area, I'd start at $65 and work higher by $5's using re-bidding. Please let us know if you have any questions before bidding.

As these dates are more expensive, what is your maximum bid? Is the River North zone the only acceptable zone or is an area such as Millennium-Grant Park also acceptable?

Ballpark area of what you're looking at in terms of prices for each star rating (we will of course start lower):

3* $130-$150

3.5* $145-$165

4* $160-$180 ($140 if willing to consider the Grant Park zone)
