dearjim Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 Here's how I got it : (I bidded at Hong Kong site so the amounts were only approximate) $46 - failed $49 added Gloucester / Runnemede - failed $51 added Stadium area - failed $58 - failed $64 - failed $70 - Hilton Garden InnI was a bit disappointed at first when I got this because I was hoping to get Marriot DT at a much lower rate. For this amount, I could've gotten 4* hotel stays, like Hyatt Penns landing. I suspect that the reasons might be either....1) There's a convention going on over there..... or2) , Knowing that forums like this do exist, the priceline in Hong Kong raises their price to a certain level above their bottom price.Well, I've saved a lot already and I should be happy about it, but knowing that this is among the highest bid of a 3* hotel in a few months, I'm not all happy. By the way, has anybody stayed there before? Thanks.
mini__me Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 It'll be high cause of Monday Night Football on the 5th :)
mini__me Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Forgot to add, I've been there once before.Pretty sure I was upgraded to a junior suite or something similar as there was a couch, table, fridge and microwave in the room.I think I have posted the pics to 'Real Hotel Photos' although I could be wrong...I'll go check :)
micawber Posted November 19, 2005 Report Posted November 19, 2005 That's a standard HGI room.MAJOR convention in Philly that weekend. If you check websites, everything downtown is sold out. You are lucky to have gotten the HGI for $70. We are going to see some friends play a concert on the 10th and we'll probably just drive back to NYC because the prices are ridiculous.
dearjim Posted November 20, 2005 Author Report Posted November 20, 2005 Thanks micawber. I'm a lot happier now knowing what I did was ok. :) Since I can't change my arrival date, I think I should be thankful for this.

micawber Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 yeah, but unless we can take a cab to and from the gig so we can drink, we might as well just drive back home. i am actually considering the airport area now, even with $40 in cab fare to/from it will still be better than anything else we can come up with.
