We are trying to book a hotel for 4 people in NYC. I checked last week and there was a 4 star (I think it was the Hyatt in MTE) for $199 1/7/06 - 1/8/06. It is gone now and there are no more 4 star hotels avail for those dates. If I do a search for 2 people, there is availibilty for 4 star hotels. Can say that there are only 2 people and then request 2 double beds??

Then what do you do if you check-in to the hotel and they tell you that there are no more rooms available with two beds... which is a common situation in NYC given the notoriously small rooms. In many cities trying for more than double occupancy is not that big of a risk, but in NYC the chances of getting a room with only one bed is much greater than in other areas.

Is this just a one nite stay? You may be able to get two rooms for just a bit more than the $199 rate you previously saw for one room/quad occupancy. If you can increase your budget a little and this is an option let us know your maixmum bid abount and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.
