Sorry I did not realize I needed to reply to precious questions. I am not sure what the outcome on the posts for the Cali trip - after all I was was planning that trip 10 months ago. We did end up staying at the Inn at the Park in San Diego which was an amazing find. I honestly can't remember if it was through hotwire, priceline or another site.

If you went through Hotwire or Priceline, you may be able to find the booking information in your account on the particular site.  

 

Member reports of successful bookings are one major basis for detecting what might be received via Hotwire and Priceline Express ... used to answer questions just like your new Hotwire question here.  

 

Even if you end up doing something else or canceling the trip, a closure note on a request lets everybody know it wasn't just forgotten.  

 

And sometimes the alternate solutions people find are useful to the next bidder.
