Would really like a 4 * and see posts about people getting great hotels for our price range ( under @ $130.00/ night) should I wait a few more days and see what pops up?

Please don't create multiple topics for the same trip, keep all posts for your stay for these dates in this thread.

Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move even higher, for 4* hotels between now and your stay, but with less than a week to go before check-in, and current HOTWIRE 'opaque' rates at $200 for 4* hotels in these zones, i think the chances of them suddenly dropping to the $130 price point is fairly low.

Best guess/comments for each of the above:

3* Airport-Downtown

--> is there also a Golf Nearby amenity associated with this property? If so, best guess would be the Wyndham San Diego Bayside.

3* Sea world/ Mission Bay/ Shelter Island

--> Wyndham Garden San Diego

3* Gas Light quarter North/Horton Sq

--> Ramada Gaslamp - The Historic St James Hotel
