genechien Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 this is my first time bidding for a room in nyc and wow the prices are high!i've got a max price of $225 and i'm looking for a *4i don't really care about location as long as it's in manhattan but i would like a nice/comfortable room. after looking at the reviews, i guess my preferences are MTW, Downtown/Soho, MTE, UMT, and MTSi might also be able to change my dates to 11/17-11/19 if that would help my situation as i know that rooms are generally very expensive for those dates.thanks!!
genechien Posted November 8, 2005 Author Report Posted November 8, 2005 also, would it be better if i tried using hotwire?
dahammer Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Rates will be high for your stay, you can usually do better with Priceline than with Hotwire.how about the Hyatt in Jersey City? On Hotwire there is a 4* for $156, which has been previously reported as the Hyatt. This property is on the hudson and has a great view of the city,.
genechien Posted November 9, 2005 Author Report Posted November 9, 2005 ok i have a quick question...i found a 4* hotel in midtown east which i think is the drake swissotel (customer favorite) for $242 per night. that rate seems pretty good to me but i was wondering if i could use priceline and get it for closer to $200 per night? i guess what i'm wondering is if i can find a 4* for $242 on hotwire, could i find other 4* for cheaper on priceline?
genechien Posted November 9, 2005 Author Report Posted November 9, 2005 also, this is kind of wierd but on the hotwire hotel lists, the drake is listed as a midtown east hotel. under the priceline hotel list, the drake is listed as an upper midtown hotel.is this correct?
genechien Posted November 9, 2005 Author Report Posted November 9, 2005 Please help identify this 4* hotel in MTEDetails are: Customer favorite, restaurant, fitness center, business center, and tennis nearby
bbbb Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 The one I am seeing for your dates is not a customer favorite? I think the one I am seeing is the Grand Hyatt. Everything matchs what you are seeing but the customer favorite part.
genechien Posted November 10, 2005 Author Report Posted November 10, 2005 started with mtw @ 210 = rejectedadd downtown @220 = rejectedadd mte @ 230 = rejectedadd umt @240 = rejectedadd mts @ 250 = rejectedadd ues @ 260 = accepted
