jrmarden Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 Hi,Thank you so much for helping me get the London hotel. We are also going to Madrid for three days. Looking to get a nice hotel in a good/safe area of Madrid for maybe $100 a night..any suggestions?jason
WillTravel Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 I would start here to get an idea of what's available: http://www.solmelia.comI got a membership number and then I got special offers emailed to me. I got the Tryp Cibeles, a central 4* hotel, for 68 Euros per night including breakfast (tax was 5.5% extra). You probably can't get as good a deal as that in December, but the offers will give you a baseline. Otherwise, I'd start with a 4* bid in Old Madrid, and lowball it at first (maybe starting at $55). You obviously won't have as much control over your location this way.
jrmarden Posted November 9, 2005 Author Report Posted November 9, 2005 Alright signed up..Also, I bid on a $100 on a 5* hotel in old madrid..rejected but counter offer at $143. Are there rebid zones for 5* hotels in madrid?jason
WillTravel Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 You can figure out the rebid zones for 5* hotels by going to the Priceline screen, preparing a bid for Madrid, and then checking out the star levels offered by each zone individually. You have to check before every bid, because now and then Priceline adjusts the zones. If you like, you can post back with the zones you think are rebid zones if you want confirmation.
