I used BiddingHelper.com for the stay 3/17-3/20, 4 stars in Rio Grande - Fajardo area. It's $119 per night + taxes and fees . Amenities include:

FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Resort, Suite, Beachfront hotel, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Children's actvities, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking. I would love this to be Wyndham Rio Mar and not Gran Melia.

Also, through BiddingHelper.com for the same stay, 4 stars in Isla Verde-Carolina-SJU. It's $154 per night + taxes and fees.

FULL AMENITIES: Resort, Beachfront hotel, Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower.

Please let me know if I need to start a new topic for two different areas.

Thanks.

My guess for the Rio Grande property would be the Gran Melia.

For the Isla Verde property, my guess would be the InterContinental.

The percent recommendation numbers are not meaningful in trying to identify hotels as we have seen this number change from one search to the next, even for the same hotel, as well as revert to 'Still gathering reviews' after showing a numerical value.

My guesses remain the same as in my previous post.

I used BiddingHelper.com.com for the stay 3/17-3/20, 4 stars in Rio Grande - Fajardo area. It's $124 per night + taxes and fees for a deluxe garden view junior suite 520sq. ft. with private balcony. Guest Score is rated at 7.0 out of 10. Guarantee Amenities include:

Fitness Center, Outdoor Swimming Pool, Restaurant, Business Center

Any idea would this property be? I also post another 4* Hotel ID help under Hotwire for the same Rio Grande area but haven't finalized my purchase yet. Wonder if this PRICELINE EXPRESS deal is the same hotel as what I saw on HOTWIRE which thereuare guessed would be Gran Melia. Thanks for your help.

Also, is PRICELINE EXPRESS deal pretty much the same as HOTWIRE?

Please keep all posts in the same thread since posts are for the same stay.

My guess would be that the PRICELINE EXPRESS listing also is the Gran Meila.

Thanks. Based on Pricline.Express Deal, if I use the regular Price.line instead in hoping to get a lower price, would that be possible? For example, if the Priceline Express Deal shows $124 per night, can I try priceline at around $90? What do you think?

Thanks!

Bidding on PRICELINE is usually (but not always) a little cheaper than PRICELINE EXPRESS... but as the two sides of their service use a different universe of hotels, when bidding you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone and you may or may not get the same hotel that is currently offered on PRICELINE EXPRESS.

Do you want to try bidding for any 4* hotel in this zone or do you prefer to try stick wtih PRICELINE EXPRESS where you are able to take a guess, and know the amenities offered, at the property? If you want to try bidding, you have plenty of re-bid zones to use, so we will start lower but it may ultimately take more than $90.. what would be your maximum bid if bidding?

Also, keep in mind that the link in my signature gives an additional 5% OFF PRICELINE EXPRESS deals, so factor this in when determining your maximum bid (and it may also make it more difficult to significantly beat the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal by bidding)

Thanks for the info. As for Priceline, I want to stick with 4* in this Rio Grande Zone. When I checked the 4* hotels under this zone for Price.line, there're 3 possibilities which I would be ok with any of those three (El Conquestador, Wyndham Rio Mar and Gran Melia).  Now with the additional 5% off Pricline.Express Deal (I'm assuming you're refering to "Metro8" discount code), the Priceline Express Deal for presumably Gran Melia ends up at about $135 per night taxes and fees included (but not including Resort Fee which I have to pay at the hotel when checking out).  My goal is ,if I bid for Price.line, I'd like the total price per night with taxes and fees to end up at  $90-$100 per night (which means that the biddign price per night has to be lower than $90-$100). I think there're a few zones that dont' have 4* hotels listed so I can employ the rebidding strategy with gradually increasing the bidding price.

Do you think my scenarion and strategy has a shot? Thank you for any suggestions.

Yes you have a shot, but note that the 'bidding', 'retail, and PRICELINE EXPRESS side of PRICELINE all use a different universe of hotels. While there is a lot of overlap between the three, you can't look at the retail offers and assume those are a finite list of possibilities of what you may get when bidding or thru PRICELINE EXPRESS.

With the above noted, if you want to move forward by bidding, when bidding 4* in this region you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Rio Grande - Fajardo - El Yunque...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100

Any questions feel free to ask.

I just bidded $80 per night for 4* in Rio Grande - El Yunque Zone but got rejected? Which rebidding zone should I add next ? I want to still get the hotel in Rio Grande Zone.  In the Priceline hotel list, all the zones have 4* or 4.5* so I can't use any of those for rebidding.  On the Priceline website, there're more zones but I'm nto sure what I can add as a rebidding that doesn't have 4*. thanks.

You have 6 zones to use when bidding 4* for Rio Grande.

and your Hotwire Milan thread as well! ;)

The Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino would be my best guess for this one.
