dunkster Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Hello,Looking for bidding help for a 4 star strip north hotel from 10/25 - 10/28. I'd like to stay for as cheap as possible. Any recommendations on a starting bid? From what I can tell I have 3 rebidding zones for 4* (Boulder Strip, Henderson, Nellis). Thanks for the help!
thereuare Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Please follow-up your previous Priceline Las Vegas thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay, then reply to this thread and we'll have a look at your trip above. Also, you have FOUR re-bid zones when bidding 4* in Las Vegas. See Priceline Re-Bidding Explained for how to determine your re-bid zones and see if you can identify the additional re-bid zone that you omitted above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. dunkster Posted August 26, 2013 Author Report Posted August 26, 2013 Thank you, previous post was updated. I also used the links through the site to confirm the following rebid zones.Boulder StripHendersonNW Las VegasNellisAny suggestions on starting price would be appreciated. Also has TI typically been the winning hotel reporting in this zone? Thanks.
thereuare Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 I'm guessing that you'll likely need to be in the $90-$100 area to be successful... so we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher then you're willing to bid, what is your maximum bid for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. dunkster Posted August 26, 2013 Author Report Posted August 26, 2013 I'd prefer to keep the max amount at $100/night. I'd love to stay at Mirage but I realize there is no way to ensure getting that hotel. Thanks!
thereuare Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 When bidding 4* in Las Vegas you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Strip North...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100If the above is rejected PRICELINE EXPRESS has a 4* hotel in the Strip North zone for $112/nite... dunkster Posted August 26, 2013 Author Report Posted August 26, 2013 Thank you, this is very helpful. I did notice the express deal - are these generally the same hotels as the ones listed in the PRICELINE HOTEL LISTS? Is there any way of telling which hotel this could be?
thereuare Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 Each side of PRICELINE: Bidding Name Your Own Price, PRICELINE EXPRESS, and Retail all use a different universe of hotels. There is quite a bit of overlap, but you can't use one side of their service to determine what you will get when using another side of their service.I think the most likely outcome for the PRICELINE EXPRESS property would be Treasure Island, but it could be any 4* hotel in the zone that has the amenities listed. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. dunkster Posted September 6, 2013 Author Report Posted September 6, 2013 I attempted name your own price at $94, $97, and $100 all of which were unsuccessful. I then went to the 4* strip north express deal with the 10% off and ended up with TI for $101/night. Thanks for the help.
