dunkster Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Hello, I'm looking for help on the Priceline bidding strategy for a 4* North hotel. I'm ok with T.I. or Mirage. I'm familiar with the rebidding process but do not know the correct zones. I'd also appreciate advice on a ballpark price range to start with. Thanks in advance for your help.
thereuare Posted January 17, 2013 Report Posted January 17, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few things to cover first...While Treasure Island and Mirage are the only 4* hotels reported to the board in this zone, you're not just bidding on these two properties, and you could be the first to report a new hotel in the zone OR a hotel that has been upgraded/downgraded since last reported to the board. As, well, you could always be upgraded to a higher rated hotel. When bidding 4* in Las Vegas you have FOUR re-bid zones (NOTE: Summerlin is NOT one of them!!) Please see this thread, Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, and see if you can determine your four re-bid zones and confirm them with the board. If you read this previous thread and are confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you.Rates are date specific... what are the actual dates of your trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. dunkster Posted January 17, 2013 Author Report Posted January 17, 2013 Thank you for the response! The dates I am looking are 3/2 - 3/7.Also based on my search I show the four rebidding zones as follows. Can someone please confirm? Thanks!Boulder StripHendersonNW Las VegasNellis - Las Vegas Speedway
thereuare Posted January 18, 2013 Report Posted January 18, 2013 Yes, you have your re-bid zones correct... but always double check them just before bidding to make sure that nothing has changed since you last checked.I'm guessing you'll need to be somewhere in the $50-$65 range... if you let us know your maximum bid we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. champfrancisco Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Is Summerlin not a 4 Star rebid option because it has a resort?
Romelle Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Is Summerlin not a 4 Star rebid option because it has a resort?Yes. A resort is considered higher than a 4*, but lower than a 5*. So when you are bidding 4*, PRICELINE may opt to "upgrade you". And that could mean getting a room in a Summerlin resort.Romelle
