need to stay in the Binghamton, NY area for one night, could have stayed at the Fairfield Inn for $80 on a corporate rate, but thought I could do better by bidding on Priceline. As always, accessed the site via savingsbarn.com. There are two areas next to Binghamton: Vestal and Johnson City.

Selected 3* Vestal, bid $55, failed

Selected 2* Binghamton, bid $45, failed

added Johnson City, bid $46, failed

Selected 2.5* Johnson City and Vestal, bid $59, failed

lowered to 2, bid $48, failed

Selected 2* Binghamton, Johnson City, Vestal, (this was my last bid at the 2* or higher level) bid $52, success!!

Your Offer Price: $52.00

Taxes & Service Fees: $13.52

Total Charges: $65.52

The online rate for this hotel is $68, so after adding taxes, I saved a whopping $10 :) so instead of using my savings at Kampai, a local Japanese Steak House, I will have to settle for having Spiedies in Johnson City :) This hotel was recently remodeled and opened as a LaQuinta franchise. The hotel features free breakfast, free High Speed internet and an indoor pool

Looks like this took a bit more effort than it usually does for you, and shows how smaller cities can be a tougher bid and the savings not as great as in their larger counter-parts.

Thank you for adding this new hotel to our lists.

Hope you enjoyed your stay (and enjoyed your Spiedies :) ).
