naashe Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Traveling to San Fran and meeting a friend for a 3 night stay. Would prefer 2 beds, what are the chances with a 4* bid? This seems to be a busy weekend (columbus) so I know we will have to bid higher, $75-125 range is ok. Can you help me with a bidding strategy? Thanks!!
thereuare Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Do you have a preference of one zone over the other or is price more important than the USE or USW zone?We can't place a probability on whether you will get a room with two beds, there are much too many variables involved in whether or not you ultimately get your request honored.Let us know regarding the price vs. zone and we'll suggest a strategy to try, assuming your 'ok' with the unknown of the bedding situation. naashe Posted September 23, 2005 Author Report Posted September 23, 2005 Thanks for your response! I think I'm willing to gamble re: the beds. I'd prefer USE first, then USW.
Blueskies Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 You want to consider Hotwire, which is less of a lottery and allows occupancy of more than 2. Input 3 persons when it ask occupancy to ensure two beds. It is slightly more expensive generally. $177 per night for the 4* Customer favourite in USE. Not sure which one it is by reading reviews. Maybe thereuare can help there if this is of interest. I know it is way over your original budget but as you say it is a busy time. remember that there are voucher codes available that can reduce the Hotwire prices. Entertainment Book vouchers as well as new customer code.
thereuare Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I'm assuming the Hotwire option is out of your price range so i'll continue with a Priceline strategy, but if not let us know. You have four re-bid zoens at the 4* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and feel free to ask questions and/or cofirm your re-bid zone with the board before proceeding. This is how i would bid:Select 4* USE...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95.Select 4* USW...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95.Select 4* USE and USW...Select 4* USE...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
