dahammer Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 started bidding for a 3* in the Nassau County area and accessed the Priceline site through savingsbarn.com. Selected 3* in the Bethpage - Melville zone and bid $89, rejected. Added Glen Cove-Oyster Bay (yes, the same one from the Billy Joel song :) ), increased the bid to $95, rejected. Added Wesbury and increased my bid to $101, rejected. I closed my browser, then re-opened my bidding at the 2.5* level, bid $75, Success :) Your Offer Price: $75.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.66 Total Charges: $91.66 From the Harrison Glen Cove Website:196 richly appointed guest rooms, including 4 suites Guest rooms feature a desk and two telephones with voice mail and dataports Garden Room serving lavish buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner; private dining and theme events The Pub for cocktails and snacks; game tables, large-screen TV, billiards, table-tennis Fitness center, sauna, steam and massage rooms, glass-enclosed swimming pool and whirlpool, racquetball courts, bowling alley, lighted tennis courts, garden swimming pool, jogging trail, sports field Golf courses nearbyLooks like this has been downgraded from 3*. dahammer Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 I understand that it's better to get the steak for two with a dining companion, it is a huge porterhouse that is grilled to perfection then sliced, add a side of creamed spinach and fried potatoes, a couple of Manhatttans.........bliss.......... :)
