AaronJB Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 My guess would be a new amenity set for the Sheraton.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
daalde1 Posted June 3, 2013 Author Report Posted June 3, 2013 I was hoping for the Embassy Suites but I'm afraid you may be correct. Disappointing that this hotel can be had for $119 on any travel site. Will be staying 1 night for the kick off to the Del Mar Fair. I'll read the TA reviews for this Sheraton but I'm already hesitant as you have to pay for parking. I might need to bite the bullet and stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Sorrento at $109/night. Great mid-hotel with free parking, free full hot breakfast buffet, and close to Del Mar fairgrounds. THanks AaronJB!

daalde1 Posted June 4, 2013 Author Report Posted June 4, 2013 Will do yellowdog. I'm actually considering using Travelocity "top secret hotels" as they have two 3* hotels in La Jolla that offer free breakfast. 1 is $87 and the other is $104. Does BB do analysis on top secret hotels? I'm assuming it might be a part of hotwire or priceline? In any event, AMEX has an offer running until 7/31 that if you spend $200 on "good buy" or "top secret hotels" on Travelocity, the will credit your account back $50. So at this point, I might just jump in the water and try this out for the first time. I'll be more than happy to keep you posted if you'd like. Thanks!
