Priceline Hotel: 2.5* Philadelphia (Airport PHL) Courtyard

I need a room near PHL for the night of my wedding. We'll be taking a limo for the hour+ drive so we just need a "nice" place to sleep for a few hours before our flight the next morning.

I tried the following for Friday 10/14/2005:

3* Hotels

$45 - PHL -- Rejected

$48 - PHL + Stadium -- Rejected

$50 - PHL + Gloucester -- Rejected

$53 - PHL + Stadium + Gloucester -- Rejected

2.5* Hotels

$50 - PHL -- Rejected

$55 - PHL + Stadium -- Rejected

Might it be too early for such low bids? there are posts of accepted bids much lower than what I've tried here. Average rates for the 3*'s on their websites is around $109.

I've used all my rebids, so I'm looking for a new plan to use this weekend when I try again. Thanks for any and all imput. :)

Rates are not high for these dates, but your dates are not far away either... i would give it another 2 weeks before bidding below 3*, and since your above bids were rejected, i would probably notch it up a bit as follows:

3* Hotels

$48 - PHL -- Rejected

$53 - PHL + Stadium -- Rejected

$58 - PHL + Stadium + Gloucester -- Rejected

You can choose to keep your bid amounts the same, but it would be a shame to "just miss" for the next two weeks over $5.

you should also make a cancellable backup, the Embassy Suites is a nice hotel nearby or the Marriott is connected to the terminal, just in case you need to linger a bit on your first morning of wedded bliss :)

Ok, so 72 hours have passed and I tried again, using the suggestion from thereuare. And still nothing. When the next 72 hours are up, should I up it once more, or try the same numbers again?

Also, in an effort to just get this over with, I tried the 2.5* with the same numbers I used the first time. Still no luck. As a note, when I bid $50 for the airport area, I got the "raise your bid $14..." suggestion, if that helps try and project what it'll take to get a good room.

I'm eager to see what people can suggest as well. My failed bids are in a seperate post, but I bid up to $55 for 3* airport for 10/13/05 (that was my second round of bidding, I have done $48-50-53-55)

I did not get the $14 suggestion however. My 72 hours is up this afternoon, so perhaps I will try again. I do not want a 2.5* as I am ***hoping*** for the airport Marriott.

The "raise your bid $14" (to a total or $64) suggestion came on a 2.5*, not a 3*.

I reread my post and I'm sure I made that 100% clear.

This is a counter offer and you can often get the bid if you offer half the counter offer amount.

Ok, so another 72 hours passed, and I tried again. This time I tried (and failed) with the following amounts:

Since the wedding date is rapidly approaching I really just wanted to get this over with. So I bid for a 2.5* hotel a little more than before:

So I finally got us a room! yey! Thanks for everyone's help. Now the details on my hotel...
