Cullen Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Friend got a room at the Omni via Hotwire for 4/20 - 4/21 for $139 + tax. Want to get a second room at the hotel but the retail rate is more than twice that. Want to minimize risk of bidding for a second hotwire room and getting a different property. Any suggestions? Thanks - first time poster, apologies if I violated etiquette.
hohogap Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Welcome to Better Bidding and I hope you enjoy your experience. The moderators will be able to help guide you through the intracacies of trying to identify hotels prior to bidding. When I view the Omni, it appears as a 4 1/2* hotel on Hotwire and appears to be located in the Magnificant Mile/Water Tower area. When I view your dates, there isn't a 4 1/2* hotel that currently matches that location, however, Hotwire inventory constantly changes. In addition, when bidding either opaque site (HW or Priceline), you have to be willing to accept any hotel of that star category in the zone selected. Good luck in your bidding and be sure to use the Better Bidding links above for all of your PRICELINE and Hotwire searches, bids and wins!
AaronJB Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. There is no way to guarantee a particular property when using either HOTWIRE or PRICELINE.However, when searching for 4/20, I'm seeing a 4.5* in the Mag Mile N-Water Tower area w/:Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower My guess is that this a slightly different amenity set than has been previously reported to the board with the Omni.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
