Excellent 5* Service from Priceline

It's time to praise Priceline.

We made a "Name Your Own Price" reservation for 3 days in Central Bristol, UK - We like the price advantage, and the fun! And it's worked great for us in the past with both Hotwire and Priceline.

However, this time there was a problem with the hotel offered by Priceline - the 4* Ramada in Bristol is being completely renovated and in three weeks time will be a Hilton Doubletree.

So, the price we offered wasn't much less than the rack rate for an hotel under renovation. Frankly, we think that the hotel should be closed during renovation - the facilities are really not usable during the daytime renovation work.

Anyway, after requesting a refund from Priceline; Priceline very promptly investigated the matter; did good communication with us; gave a full refund and all in just two days.

Surprise, surprise, our bank, Lloyds TSB, also gave a full refund of the Foreign Transaction Charge ( $ to £ ). As a silly by-product, we made £0.49 profit from the transaction. This was because in the two days the Pound had dropped against the Dollar, so the converted refund was for a slightly higher amount!

To us, this was faultless service, and we will definitely be using Priceline again.
