WillTravel Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 We purchased this nearly a year in advance through Hotwire, as I knew it was a great deal for the weekend of the Bumbershoot. We had to store our luggage, as we weren't allowed to check in at 11 AM. I went back at 5 PM, and had no problem getting a 2-bed room (I had booked a room for 1 adult and 2 children). I heard the Front Desk Supervisor say to someone on the phone that they were completely booked up. We were on the top floor and had tall, sloping ceilings. We had some sort of a view, but nothing remarkable. The room with 2 queens was spacious and comfortable with a good bathroom. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast from 6:30-10. This was not spectacular, but there was a fair selection of pastries and bagels, hardboiled eggs, several cold cereals, milk, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and juices. The in-house self-service laundry was very convenient. Staff were helpful and friendly. It's about four or five blocks walk to the Space Needle. I would not particularly like to walk in this area late at night, but due to the Bumbershoot, there was a lot of foot traffic then, so it wasn't too bad. You can take the monorail into downtown from near the Space Needle, but you can also walk into downtown. Again, though, the area is not the best. Second Avenue in particular seems quite sketchy as you walk in.
