Priceline Hotel: 3* NYC (Downtown) Marriott Financial Center

Any suggestnions for Lower Manhattan Sep 25-26? It has to be in Lower Manhattan, and preferrably 3* or above. Where do you reccomend I start?

One Night (Sunday), Millenimum Hilton wants $409, and there's a regional conference of lawyers on that Monday.

Rates downtown are quite high... how high are you willing to bid?

Remember that the "Downtown" zone is larger than just the financial district.

I would recommend staying more midtown and just take a $2 subway ride (or a $15 cab ride) downtown.

My situation here is this is a one day conference, and while it wouldn't be a huge problem, I'm booking this for someone who is coming from out of town and for whom convenience is paramount.

Bid 3* $136 got the Marriott New York Financial Center . Seems likea new hit here.

You first asked for help for a 4* property... did you try for a 4* and rejected? Was this your first bid at the 3* level or do you have some bidding history to report?

Ok. I began with $145 at the 4 star level and got countered to add $22. I refused deciding that $200 (including taxes and fees and such) would be a bit too much, and basically winged it with this *** bid. Did I overpay? I certainly hope not.
