  1. Bid $21 for a 1* expecting to get the Downers Grove ESA, and wound up getting the one in Hillside. Not bad if you're driving, but not within the Oakbrook - Downers Grove business corridor. Property got pretty inconsistent reviews on tripadvisor, but I didn't think it was that bad. However, did get a smoking room with a bit of an odd smell. Property is right near the end of the OB - DG zone map.
  2. Might have to come out to the city for this one! What a steal! This is almost as good as the $26-$29 properties we're seeing in the suburbs ;]
  3. Last I knew; there were no 4*s in Burlington itself (the Hilton is not a 4*, IMO, and I don't think PRICELINE rates it as such) The only area with a 4* is the Essex zone; which would give you The Essex.
  4. Friend of mine very recently booked 3* Burlington and got the Holiday Inn Burlington. 4* (which is only valid in Essex Jct, AFAIK) is The Essex Resort. Excellent property and one of my best PL bargains ever, IMHO.
  5. Stayed here not too long ago on an Expedia promo. Not a bad hotel, if you get a refurbished room. A little rough around the edges, but well worth $26. Crazy how low it's gotten (!)
  6. In for the same property tonight, didn't strategize right, and paid $70 :). The 4*s in San Diego on PL sure do change all the time. Never seen this one on priceline before, but retails for $199, so should be a nice night :)
  7. 20 rooms may be above the priceline allocation of a certain property.. although I'm guessing none of us know for sure. Have you thought about calling the properties with their priceline rate? (ask specifically for the sales manager..). I've met the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Oak Brook, and I have a feeling he may be willing to work with you. -a
  8. With a stay that length, idk if it would work, but have you considered calling the properties you'd be interested in directly and asking for the sales manager? -a
  9. Stayed here in December, came in from chicago on megabus and had a flight early the next morning. - there was free wi-fi from my room. not sure if it originated at the property, based on the SSID being something like Milwaukee Wi-Fi, but it worked fine. - was given a refurbished room by default. was really nice, totally 3.5* compliant. not sure if all are this way. - bed extremely comfortable. - very, very friendly service. much better, and a far better value than staying at an inferior airport property for around the same money. only con i'd note is their elevator, plan an extra 2-4 minutes (unless they've already fixed it, they were waiting on a part) to get to your floor, since elevator calls don't work, and it randomly shows or doesn't.
  10. and international first is something us mortals have to dream of... (United and American have three classes, with first class being pretty much the ultimate in luxury) Please let us know which airline it is. Upgrading the fare will be absurdly expensive, but some airlines offer upgrades for sale at the gate if you ask an agent. -A
  11. Hi Everyone! This is probably the first time I'm staying at a hotel at the sametime as someone else from BetterBidding - even though sadly I won't have time to meet up with them. I bid $46 for this property and got a counter-offer for $59. Realizing it's probably not worth chancing it over $10 or so a night, I accepted the offer and got the Hyatt, even though I was hoping for the Embassy Suites.
  12. Howdy: Looks like the CP lowered their prices on PL, as dahammer had won the crowne plaza for $86, and I also bid $86 and hit on the first try. that's the way I like to do priceline.. go through charted territory .. and win on a bid that's already been done, especially at a hotel ur familiar with.
  13. Thanks so much for everything -- once I get some money back, I'll be sure to contribute some of the dough/cash/$/simoleon/lizzardbacks/green stuff -A
  14. I booked 2/23 (tonight)-2/24 Are you SPG Elite? If so, the Sheraton Manhattan does not provide very good recognition. Starwood is tough in New York, W The Court or the Tuscany and Westin Times Square the Starwood properties I would reccomend.
  15. Hi guys! Bid 3* MTE/MTW $100 and hit the Sheraton Manhattan immediately. Not bad at all. Too bad I'm not SPG elite, and no promos.
