dahammer
started bidding for a room in Rye, NY and accessed the Priceline site through Savingsbarn.com. I have not seen too many wins in this area, and with hotel prices increasing substantially, I was not sure where to start. At the 3* level, I have two rebid zones and I figured that if I failed at the 3* level, the 2.5* properties in the area would be just fine. Started my bid at $76 for a 3* in the Rye-White Plains zone, added Mt. Kisco and went up to $81, added Yonkers and increased the bid to $86. When this last bid failed, I closed my browser and started bidding at the 2.5* level at $79. Success!! Your Offer Price: $79.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.70 Total Charges: $95.70 This is your classic Marriott Courtyard, no frills but it belies the 2.5* rating. The rate with taxes on the Marriott website is $184, so I saved about $90. Hoping to use the savings on some good eats in Port Chester nearby. Link to comment
