Will travel on 2013/11/9 to 2013/11/10 one night and try to get 3.5* Orlando Airport Marriott. I am thinking $50 on priceline. Is it reasonable? Any suggestions/comments are welcome.

Welcome to BetterBidding :)

You have plenty of time so i would lowball this with $40 to start with. You might get an counteroffer so you get a feeling for what it takes.

And you know that you can get any 3.5* when using PRICELINE, not just the Marriott.

No - you are not given the name of the hotel with a counter-offer (which are not that frequently seen). There is no way to know exactly which hotel will accept a bid; if you bid for a 4* (for example), in a particular zone, you have to be willing to accept any 4* in that zone.

For what it is worth, I have this suggestion if you get a counter offer. Do not accept it; instead increase your bid to a price between your current bid and the counter offer. For example, if you bid $50 and got a counter offer of $58, make your next bid $54. When I have been given a counter offer, I have always had a lower counter bid accepted. (It may take two re-bids, but it has always worked.)

Thanks for the info.

In priceline, is there anyway to increase the chance to get a particular hotel, like "Orlando Airport Marriott" instead of other 3.5* hotels? In hotwire, they at least give you amenities information or how far from the aiport.

There is no way to increase the possibility of a particular hotel or avoid a particular hotel when using PRICELINE. Both services really require some degree of flexibility - HOTWIRE only shows one hotel per star rating per each set of date/s and it may not be the hotel you are hoping for.
