emillekorea Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 :) despite of that check in date is monday, My bidding are all rejected72yrs ago I bid $65(*3), 60(*2.5) and now I bid $68(*3, *2.5).Actually, I would bid with the expectation of no problem due to weekday. However, as rejected I was embarrased a little. I'll go to New York (LGA) on 19 Sep with my son and wife and have a planto stay for 3nites. I've experienced with sleeping in the Hyatt regency in hudson for my biz. I thought that good places for traveling into NY. is there anyone that get me an advise for strategy to bid?I'm willing to use publice transportation that's why I think that the regionis only Jersey city. I have little chance to bid ..Plz..help me
thereuare Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! Not sure why you think rates would be cheap on a Monday check-in. This is a business hotel (you stayed here on business, right? :) ) and therefore discoutned rates are usually tougher to come by for midweek stays than for weekend stays.Your bids are not high enough for success on these dates (and i don't believe there is availablity thru the opaque suppliers for your entire stay). What is your maximum bid? What will you do if you're not successful with Priceline? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
emillekorea Posted September 8, 2005 Author Report Posted September 8, 2005 I thought that the bidding price was in Aug, about upto $81. and then I'm willing to bid the price + some. (up to $100 for hyatt regency in hudson)However, the problem is that Hyatt, Candle, Mariott in Jersey city is not available on 19 -22 SEP when checking by internet. I'm wondering that if not available in jersey-city on the time, I think it's impossible to win. I want to get ur opinion. and I only found *1 hotel on Hotwire for $110. but, there is no *1 hotel in jersey city on ur priceline list .There is a check box for *1 hotel in jersey city on priceline now.can u get me information ? what is *1 hotel jersey city in the priceline?if possbile then, plz help me bid for New york night.God bless with u !
thereuare Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 When a hotel shows no availabilty the chances of having success via the opaque suppliers greatly decreases... but we have seen hotels awared thru priceline and hotwire while the hotel website was otherwise showing sold-out.The 1* hotels are likely along Route1&9 which is in another part of the Jersey City zone, and it's not really a place where you want to be.If you bid for NYC, what is your maximum bid? ($100 won't be nearly enough). Also, will there be three of your or two (it's clear if you'll be making this trip with your wife and son)... for if it's three, bidding for one room for more than double occupancy in NYC can be risky. dahammer Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 and I only found *1 hotel on Hotwire for $110. This could be the Ramada Limited in Jersey City, as it was recently downgraded from a 2*. But, it has not been reported on Priceline. I would agree with thereuare, the 1* properties on Rt 1&9 should be avoided, especially with your family. You might need to consider Secaucus-Meadowlands and use the NJ Transit Bus to get into Manhattan.
