Priceline Hotel: 4* Fort Lauderdale (Beach) Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel

1 night pre-cruise. Wasn't sure if I'd get a good deal this far out but figured I had time to try.

Started bidding yesterday low for 3.5* ($30/40/50) using FL Downtown and FL Beach and areas that didn't have 3.5*. Today started bidding with 3.5* FL Downtown only at $60. Added in Ft Lauderdale Airport North (no 3.5) at 70, then Beach with 75 and won. Expedia has this hotel/date listed at $296.

Please help me understand, as I am trying to get a 4* Ft. Lauderdale Beach property as well, how you won a 4* location without ever bidding 4* in any of your attempts? Thank you :)

I selected minimum 3.5* and it said it "upgraded" me to 4*.

I saw another post for the same property, 10 days prior to my dates for $74.
