There is a recent thread you can look up on this property which has not been officially reported as yet. In addition to the properties discussed on the other thread, consider the addition of 'Newport Coast' means that Pelican Hill is another possibility.

imo- If it is, it would explain why we dont see a beach/oceanfront amenity

The Resort at Pelican Hill would be my current best guess for this one.

Pelican Hill used to the only 5* for Corona del Mar, but I think it's been switched to Newport Coast/Laguna Beach/Dana Point. When I used HOTWIRE previously to stay there, the price range was $225-$240/night, and the amenities were just accessibility-related. So Pelican Hill is probably a good bet. I'm actually wanting to go there but from 4/7-12 ($228/night) but am terrified of pulling the trigger on a $1300 HOTWIRE charge with the prospects of not getting P Hill. The place is unreal, so would love to hear what you end up with.
