theothursdays Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 Trying to plan a bachelor party for my friend, and hoping to secure some rooms at one of the nicer hotels in the city. We're going to need 3 rooms, preferably in a 4*, however we wanted to stay around $300 total for the 3 rooms.I bid once, at $75, Downtown and Trevose and was rejected, like I imagined it would be.Any advice or strategies?
thereuare Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 Are you familiar with and have used PRICELINE RE-BIDDING? If not, please read the previous link and feel free (you are encouraged) to confirm your re-bid zones with the board. From there we can suggest a strategy for you to try. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dahammer Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 besides collecting the $$ from the group before you bid, you might also want to try for the Holiday Inn at 4th and Chestnut, it is walkable to many bars, and in a pinch, one might even be able to crawl back :)
theothursdays Posted September 1, 2005 Author Report Posted September 1, 2005 Thanks guys, yeah I'm familliar with the re-bid strategy just wasn't sure as to what the availaility would be that weekend. Also, should've noted we have a limo reserved so we'll only have to crawl back to the limo and in to an eleavator haha.
thereuare Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 You actually have seven re-bid zones when bidding 4* in this area, so why not bid as follows:Select 4* Downtown...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $100.You'll then take out the guesswork and will be better able to evaluate what your next move. dahammer Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Also, should've noted we have a limo reserved so we'll only have to crawl back to the limoin that case, you should most certainly check out the following establishments: Cheerleaders, near Front and Oregon, or better yet, Delilah's Den near Spring Garden and Columbus Blvd (Delaware Ave) I heard the Ballet is outstanding, so they say....... :)
