WillTravel Posted August 9, 2003 Report Share Posted August 9, 2003 Definitely not an expert here, but based on what you said about wanting a 3* hotel in a central location near the underground, I would only bid for the following areas, listed in my order of preference (which might not be yours):Westminster Bloomsbury - Marble Arch Mayfair - Soho Kensington - Earls Court - Knightsbridge (personally I don't think I'd bid here, but lots of people do and like it, and I think there have been some $50 bids for the Thistle Kensington) There's no guarantee you will be next to the tube, of course, but I think it's highly unlikely you would be more than 4 blocks (and probably less) from a tube station. You might not be able to get as low a rate as $50, particularly for a full 1-week stay.(I was quite happy with the 2* Comfort Inn Vauxhall, which I have reviewed on this board, but I don't know if that would meet your requirements.)
